On this page
Crypto Indonesia is an independent guide to buying, selling and securing crypto in Indonesia. We answer the questions people actually ask: is it legal, which platforms are licensed, what do fees and tax come to, and what exists or does not exist in a particular city. We write the way a local analyst would explain things to a friend: concretely, with rupiah amounts, and without pushing you to buy anything.
Who writes it
The site is written and maintained by an editorial team we call the Crypto Indonesia Editorial Team (Redaksi Crypto Indonesia). We do not publish individual names, and we do not claim credentials you cannot check. Instead we rely on what you can check yourself: every page lists its sources. If we are wrong, you can point it out and we will correct it in the open. Our correction policy is at the bottom of this page.
We are not a financial institution, an investment adviser, or a tax or legal consultant. We have no official relationship with OJK, Bank Indonesia, PPATK, the Directorate General of Taxes or any platform we review. The information here is general and educational; its limits are set out in the disclaimer.
What we write
The content falls into three parts. Guides answer one question per page, from how to buy crypto in Indonesia and is crypto legal in Indonesia to crypto tax and crypto scams. Reviews assess platforms one by one, with a hard line between OJK-licensed platforms and offshore ones. Locations explain what is really available in a given city, including the honest answer that we found no confirmed, operating public Bitcoin ATM in Indonesia.
Our main language is Indonesian, and every page has an English version that is rewritten rather than translated word for word, for foreign visitors and long-stay residents.
Independence and how we earn
We want to be as clear as possible here. The coloured call-to-action buttons on some pages, including the one near the top, point to an overseas service that accepts cards, CEX.IO, which is registered with the UK FCA and holds a US NMLS number but is not OJK-licensed and does not support rupiah. The parts that are unfavourable to that service, such as no OJK licence and no rupiah, are deliberately placed in the first paragraph. Review scores cannot be bought. All outbound links carry a nofollow attribute.
The appearance of a platform's name on this site is not a recommendation to invest. Crypto is high-risk, and we write about how to use the official routes, not about promised returns.
Sources, dates and how we handle uncertainty
We put official sources first: OJK, Bank Indonesia, the Directorate General of Taxes, PPATK, and the websites and help pages of the companies concerned. Data from news reports, third-party directories and operator claims is labelled as such, not presented as verified fact. When something cannot be confirmed, we write "we could not confirm" and explain what we tried. Data-heavy pages carry a "Checked" box or a later date. The full description is on the methodology page.
Correction policy
If you find a figure that has changed, a dead link or a wrong claim, email contact@crypto-indonesia.com with the page link and evidence if you have it. We check the report against the original source and, if it holds up, fix the page and update its date. A correction that changes the meaning of one of our conclusions is written into the page text, not made silently. We do not promise a particular response time, but reports of factual errors get priority.

How to reach us, and what we do and do not answer, is on the contact page. Our data and site policies are in the privacy policy and the terms.
