If you typed "buy bitcoin near me" or "Bitcoin ATM near me", this page answers the question behind the search: what is really available where you are, and what is just a claim on the internet. The cards below list a guide per city, from Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya to Bali and its tourist districts, and are generated automatically from every location page that has been published. This section explains how we write them.

The honest answer on ATMs and cash shops

The first thing to know: we found no confirmed, operating public Bitcoin ATM in Indonesia. There are unproven claims, old machines of unknown status, and plenty of advertising pages titled "Bitcoin ATM + city name" that prove nothing. The full explanation and how to check a claim are in our Bitcoin ATM guide. For that reason every location page starts with what genuinely exists there, then moves to what you can do today.

What we cover in each city

Each location page takes a different angle because the cities really are different. Jakarta is the market centre and home to the licensed players. Commuter satellites such as Tangerang, Bekasi and Depok show a pattern of small tickets through QRIS. Bandung and Yogyakarta are understood through campus life, while Surabaya, Medan, Makassar and Batam describe regions with thinner infrastructure. Bali has its own pages for the island plus Denpasar, Canggu, Seminyak, Ubud and Kuta, because the needs of tourists, remote workers and locals differ a lot. For places beyond Java and Bali there is crypto across Indonesian islands.

How we choose and write

We start from facts that can be checked: population, airports, universities, business centres and the state of payment infrastructure, and we mark clearly what comes from official sources and what comes from directories or operators. If a cash-for-crypto service appears only on its operator's own site, we call it an operator claim. Guides that apply in every city, such as how to buy crypto in Indonesia, P2P, OTC and cash, we link to rather than repeat on every page. Wherever you are, the most sensible route is still an OJK-licensed app topped up from a bank account or QRIS.

On safety and legality

Each location page carries the safety notes relevant to that place, including documented cases in Bali. Everything is sourced, and none of it replaces legal advice; see the disclaimer. How we check and update is explained in the methodology. If you have provable information about a service in your city, send it through the contact page.

LocationJakartaIn Jakarta the route you can stand behind is an OJK-licensed app funded from your own bank account. The Ratu Plaza Bitcoin ATM is a claim, not a fact.
LocationTangerang, Bekasi, DepokIn Jakarta's satellite cities, crypto buying happens almost entirely on your phone: small top-ups from your own bank account into an OJK-licensed app. We found no Bitcoin ATM here.
LocationBandungBandung is the only place a staffed crypto counter appears in a directory, but it is unverified and promises no KYC. We do not recommend it, and here is why.
LocationSurabayaSurabaya is a trade and port city, yet we found no Bitcoin ATM or crypto counter that can be verified. The route that works today is an OJK-licensed app.
LocationYogyakartaYogyakarta has no confirmed Bitcoin ATM, but you do not need one: an OJK-licensed app, your e-KTP and a Rp50,000 top-up by QRIS or virtual account are enough.
LocationMedanMedan has no confirmed Bitcoin ATM or cash counter. Buying is effectively online through OJK-licensed apps, with OTC for large sums and P2P as the risky side route.
LocationMakassarMakassar is the largest city in eastern Indonesia, yet we found no Bitcoin ATM or cash counter there. Everything runs online through OJK-licensed apps, and WITA time matters.
LocationBatamBatam is only about 20 km from Singapore, yet we found no Bitcoin ATM or cash counter there. The lawful route is still an OJK-licensed app and rupiah, with care over cross-border cash.
LocationBaliWe found no confirmed public Bitcoin ATM in Bali. What exists: OJK-licensed apps via a bank account, BI-licensed money changers, and USDT cash shops whose claims we could not verify.
LocationDenpasarIn Denpasar the simplest route is the ordinary one: an OJK-licensed app, your e-KTP, and top-ups from a bank account or QRIS. We found no verified Bitcoin ATM or cash-for-crypto kiosk in the city.
LocationCangguCanggu has Bali's most active Bitcoin community, but no machine that dispenses rupiah. If you are paid in crypto, the safest route is a licensed exchange or a bank account, not a roadside swap shop.
LocationSeminyakYou will not find a confirmed Bitcoin ATM in Seminyak. The real risk sits at ordinary money-changer counters. Here are the tricks, how to check a Bank Indonesia licence, and when a card beats cash.
LocationUbudThere is no confirmed, operating Bitcoin ATM in Ubud. What works is an OJK-licensed app, your own bank account, and a plan for a small town where the power sometimes drops.
LocationKutaThere is no confirmed, operating Bitcoin ATM in Kuta. What you should sort out first is the arrival itself: cash declaration, a SIM, rupiah, and a licensed money changer.
LocationCrypto by islandLicensed crypto apps work from any island with internet, an e-KTP and a bank account. What differs is physical infrastructure, and as far as we found only Java and Bali have any.
