Reku is an OJK-licensed crypto app that, on paper, is among the cheapest for small purchases: Lightning mode charges no platform fee, virtual-account top-ups are free and the minimum deposit is only Rp10,000. The catch sits at the other end, a flat Rp6,500 bank ADM fee every time you withdraw rupiah. This page dissects Reku's two modes (Lightning and Pro), works out when each is cheaper, and explains why Reku's homepage still says "Bappebti" when the supervisor is now OJK. The closest comparisons are Pintu and Indodax; if you are new, the order of steps is in how to buy crypto in Indonesia.
{{callout type="verify" title="Checked against sources"}} Fees, deposits and withdrawals were read from Reku's official fee page. That page still showed CFX at 0.0111%, although CFX is scheduled to fall from 1 October 2026; we do not know Reku's new figure. The coin count, user count and app-store ratings are claims on Reku's homepage, not something we audited. {{/callout}}
Two modes, two ways to pay
The difference is simple but often misunderstood. Lightning is the instant mode: you see a price, tap buy or sell, done. The fee page lists Lightning as "free" for both buys and sells. Pro is an order-book interface with a 0.1% fee per trade, meant for people who want to place limit orders. Both modes carry components you cannot avoid: CFX of 0.0111% (the exchange and clearing levy) and 0.21% income tax on sales only, under PMK 50/2025. Buying attracts no VAT, as explained in our crypto tax guide.
| Component | Lightning | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Platform fee, buy | Free | 0.1% |
| Platform fee, sell | Free | 0.1% |
| CFX (each trade) | 0.0111% | 0.0111% |
| Income tax on sale | 0.21% | 0.21% |
| Price spread | Not published | Shown in the order book |
"Free" in Lightning does not mean zero cost. Reku does not say whether the instant price already contains a gap between buy and sell prices; instant modes in any app usually do. We cannot confirm it for Reku, so treat Lightning as "zero platform fee, spread unknown".
The numbers: Rp5,000,000 from buy to cash-out
This is an illustrative example, assuming the price does not move between buying and selling, Rp5,000,000 in each direction, and the official rates. Lightning's spread is deliberately kept separate because it is not published.
- Pro: buy 0.1% (Rp5,000) + CFX (Rp555) = Rp5,555. Sell 0.1% (Rp5,000) + 0.21% tax (Rp10,500) + CFX (Rp555) = Rp16,055. Withdrawal Rp6,500. Total about Rp28,110, or 0.56%.
- Lightning: buy CFX Rp555 + sell CFX Rp555 + tax Rp10,500 + withdrawal Rp6,500. Total about Rp18,110, or 0.36%, before any spread.
The gap is Rp10,000, or 0.2% of the amount. So Lightning wins as long as the combined buy and sell spread stays under 0.2%; if it is wider, Pro wins. To test it, compare Lightning's buy and sell prices for Bitcoin at the same minute with the market price on Indodax or on Reku's own Pro screen. Repeat when the market is calm and when it is moving. If you only buy Rp200,000 a month, the difference between the two modes is about Rp200 per purchase, so do not spend your time there; the withdrawal fee matters more.
Licence status, and the homepage that still says Bappebti
PT Rekeningku Dotcom Indonesia (Reku) is listed as a digital financial asset trader (PAKD) on the OJK list published by CNBC Indonesia on 19 December 2025. We could not open ojk.go.id directly from our research environment, so this status rests on press copies of the list; match it yourself using the steps in our crypto scams guide.
One oddity is worth knowing. When we read reku.id, the text still said "registered and supervised by Bappebti and Kominfo". That is old wording: supervision of crypto moved from Bappebti to OJK on 10 January 2025, as covered in is crypto legal in Indonesia. We read it as text nobody updated, not as a sign of a fake licence, because the OJK list carries the company name. It is still a good reason to always check the company name and official domain against the OJK list rather than trust homepage copy.
Top-ups: free virtual accounts, QRIS at 0.7%
According to the official fee page, bank transfers and virtual accounts carry no fee, the minimum deposit is Rp10,000 and there is no maximum. E-wallets OVO, DANA and LinkAja cost 1.665%; QRIS costs 0.7%. In practice, a Rp1,000,000 top-up costs nothing from Reku's side by virtual account, Rp7,000 by QRIS and Rp16,650 by DANA. So at Reku QRIS is much cheaper than an e-wallet, the reverse of what most people assume. Method-by-method comparisons across apps are in our GoPay, OVO, DANA guide.
Credit cards do not appear as a deposit method on the pages we read. The reasons are covered in the credit card and PayPal guide.
Withdrawals: free in the headline, Rp6,500 in the detail
The official page calls rupiah withdrawals free but adds a flat Rp6,500 bank ADM fee. The minimum is Rp30,000 and the maximum Rp3 billion per day. We did not find processing times on the fee page. For comparison, Pintu charges Rp4,500 and Indodax and Tokocrypto Rp10,000. Because the fee is flat, the percentage swings with the amount: withdrawing Rp30,000 (the minimum) loses Rp6,500, about 22%; Rp500,000 loses 1.3%; Rp5,000,000 only 0.13%. Reku clearly suits people who withdraw occasionally and in larger sums better than those who cash out small amounts every week. The full cash-out routine is in our guide to selling crypto for rupiah.
Coins sent to a wallet outside Reku carry only the network fee (which, per the official page, goes to miners rather than Reku), and coin deposits into Reku are free. Transfers between Reku users also cost nothing. For keeping coins yourself, see the best crypto wallets in Indonesia.
Verification: e-KTP and a selfie
From what we read, Reku verification uses a photo of the e-KTP and a selfie (foreigners: passport plus KITAS or KITAP), with processing of "a few minutes to a few hours" according to a snippet of Reku's help centre. We did not open the full KYC help page, so we quote no daily limits or review hours. We did not see an NPWP as a separate KYC requirement for crypto, but that is an inference from absence, not an official statement.
The homepage claims: 350+ coins, 1 million+ users
Reku's homepage says "350+ coins" for spot trading, "600+ global company stocks and ETFs" and "trusted by 1 million+" users. The app-store ratings shown are Apple 4.6 (6.2 thousand ratings) and Google Play 4.7 (40.8 thousand). All of this is company data, read as published. For context, OJK recorded 22.93 million crypto accounts nationally in July 2026 (CNBC Indonesia, 27 August 2026); those are accounts, not people, so they cannot be divided to get a market share. What you can conclude is that Reku is a mid-sized player with a wide coin catalogue, but smaller than Indodax, which claims 10 million+ members.
The homepage also advertises futures with 1x to 25x leverage and staking with returns of "up to 12.5% APY". Both are outside this review and not for beginners: leverage magnifies losses, and an APY figure is a ceiling on a claim, not a promise. For large sums Reku also has an OTC service; the Rp50 million minimum comes from one third-party report (September 2025) that we have not confirmed. Other desks are compared in our crypto OTC guide.
Security: what you can check, what is a claim
What you can verify yourself is the licence status and the domain name on the OJK list. Reku's homepage also points to a "Transparency Portal" for asset-security information and mentions ISO certification; we audited neither and found no open audit report we could read. A rule that applies to every PAKD, not a Reku strength, is the separation of customer assets with a licensed custodian. On your side, switch on two-step authentication, never give an OTP to anyone claiming to be from Reku, and install the app only from the official stores. Fake accounts imitating local crypto apps are a common tactic, described in the crypto scams guide. And do not keep a large balance on a single exchange; self-custody is covered in our wallet guide, linked in the withdrawals section.
Who suits Reku, and who should look elsewhere
Picture Sari, who buys Rp300,000 a month through a BCA virtual account and never sells. Top-ups are free, Lightning's platform fee is zero and CFX is only about Rp33 per purchase. Reku is nearly ideal for her, and she never touches the withdrawal fee. Now Tono, who buys by QRIS and once a month cashes out Rp150,000: QRIS at 0.7% (Rp1,050 on Rp150,000) plus Rp6,500 to withdraw comes to about 5% before sales tax; he would save money at an app with a Rp4,500 withdrawal like Pintu, or by withdrawing less often. Active traders who place limit orders will like Pro at 0.1%, although the order books and official maker-taker percentages at Indodax or Tokocrypto are also worth weighing.
Reku's weak points
First, the flat Rp6,500 withdrawal fee is unfriendly to small amounts, and the Rp30,000 minimum makes the worst case expensive. Second, Lightning's spread is not published, so "free" cannot be verified without manual comparison. Third, the homepage still carries stale Bappebti text, a sign that official copy is not always maintained. Fourth, the fee page did not yet reflect the CFX change scheduled for 1 October. Fifth, we found no documented withdrawal processing time or KYC limits on the pages we could read. Sixth, high-risk products (futures, high-yield staking) live in the same app as the beginner mode.
Reku compared with Pintu, Indodax and Pluang
Pintu uses a final price with no separate trading fee and withdraws at Rp4,500, but its minimum deposit is Rp50,000. Indodax has a larger member base, but withdrawals cost Rp10,000. Pluang offers Instant Order with no Pluang fee and combines stocks, gold and crypto in one app, with many details still unverified. Luno has only been fully licensed since May 2026. The table summarises three of them; a wider list is in the best crypto exchanges.

Our score: 4.1 out of 5
The 4.1 is an editorial judgement. In its favour: PAKD status, zero Lightning platform fee, free virtual-account top-ups, a Rp10,000 minimum deposit, QRIS at only 0.7%, and a fee page that is complete and easy to calculate from. Against: the flat Rp6,500 withdrawal, the unpublished Lightning spread, stale Bappebti text on the homepage and risky products in the same app. For regular buyers who rarely withdraw, Reku makes a lot of sense; for people who often cash out small amounts, the withdrawal fee erodes the advantage. How we score is on our methodology page and other write-ups are in the reviews index. All figures are; open the official Reku fee page for today's rates, especially after CFX changes.

Frequently asked questions
Is Reku legal and licensed by OJK?
Yes. PT Rekeningku Dotcom Indonesia appears as a licensed digital financial asset trader (PAKD) on the OJK list reproduced by the press on 19 December 2025. Reku's homepage still says it is registered and supervised by Bappebti and Kominfo, which is old wording from before supervision moved to OJK on 10 January 2025. Check OJK's latest list.
What are Reku's trading fees?
On the official page: Lightning mode charges no platform fee on buys or sells, Pro charges 0.1%. Both add CFX of 0.0111%, and sales carry 0.21% income tax. Lightning's price spread is not published. CFX is scheduled to fall from 1 October 2026, so re-check the fee page.
How much does it cost to withdraw rupiah from Reku?
Reku describes withdrawals as free but adds a flat Rp6,500 bank ADM fee. The minimum is Rp30,000 and the maximum Rp3 billion per day. Because the fee is flat, withdrawing Rp30,000 loses about 22% to cost. Do the arithmetic before withdrawing small amounts.
What is Reku's minimum deposit and top-up cost?
The minimum is Rp10,000 with no maximum. Bank transfer and virtual accounts are free. QRIS costs 0.7%, while OVO, DANA and LinkAja cost 1.665%. A Rp1,000,000 QRIS top-up costs Rp7,000; a virtual account costs nothing from Reku's side. Figures.
What is the difference between Reku Lightning and Pro?
Lightning is an instant buy and sell mode at a quoted price, with no platform fee but a possible price spread. Pro uses an order book and charges 0.1% per trade. Lightning is cheaper when the round-trip spread is below roughly 0.2%, which is something you should check yourself.
How many coins and users does Reku have?
Reku's homepage claims 350+ spot coins and trust from 1 million+ users. Both are company claims we did not audit. For context, OJK recorded 22.93 million crypto accounts nationally in July 2026, so 1 million+ makes Reku a mid-sized player.
Is Reku good for beginners?
It suits you if you want zero platform fees through Lightning and free virtual-account top-ups. The beginner drawbacks are that the flat Rp6,500 withdrawal fee is painful on small amounts and that high-risk products such as leveraged futures sit in the same app. Start with spot only.
